Covid-19 update (3 March 2020)

Covid 19 Update

The Realist2020 organising team would like to update you regarding plans for the Realist 2020 conference in light of the Covid-19 outbreak. The health and safety of conference delegates is of the upmost importance to us. We will continue to monitor upcoming events in light of the guidance from the Government, national and international health agencies and our own health and safety protocols. The approach which has been taken to date in Ireland is in line with guidance from the World Health Organisation and European Centre for Disease Control.

As of today, 3rd March, it is planned that the conference will proceed as scheduled and this is being kept under constant review. This information will be updated daily.

At present, the relevant health authorities in Ireland have deemed the risk of contracting coronavirus in Ireland as low. There are no travel restrictions to or from Ireland. Ireland has had one confirmed case of Covid-19 and the country is considered to be in a containment phase. The Irish government has not yet recommended cancellation or postponement of events.

Travel from affected areas

The health and safety of all participants at the conference is our priority. We respectfully ask that if you visit an affected region within 14 days of the conference, that you do not to attend the conference.
