Andrew Hawkins is a Partner at ARTD Consultants, one of Australia’s most established specialist monitoring and evaluation firms, where he has worked for the last 12 years. Andrew has qualifications in psychology and administrative law and a fellow of Charles Darwin University. He draws on a background in behaviour change, using a realist lens and empirical analysis to monitor performance and conduct evaluation to help clients understand how interventions work, and how they may be improved to achieve strategic objectives.

Andrew works as a trusted advisor across the public and not-for profit sector. Andrew is squarely focused on the needs of his clients and finding cost-effective ways to ensure they have the information they need with the time and resources available. His focus is on harnessing the power of evaluative thinking across the policy and program lifecycle. Andrew co-authored a major report on Choosing appropriate designs and methods for impact evaluation for the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. He has also published work exploring the use of randomised controlled trials for testing realist program theory in complex social systems.
