
Brian Galvin is Programme Manager for Drug and Alcohol Research in the Health Research Board (HRB). He is head of Ireland’s focal point to the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA). On behalf of Ireland’s Department of Health, he manages the research requirements of the Irish national drugs strategy, including the current wave of the general population survey on drug and alcohol use. He also manages the HRB National Drugs Library, edits Drugnet Ireland, the HRB’s quarterly research and policy bulletin, and commissions evidence reviews in the drugs and alcohol area.
